Decided to update my status about an hour ago and sat staring in shock as I saw that my status is now SIRE!! hot diggidty damn! Figured I'd reach in in a couple of weeks...but mesa one happy girlie!!!!!! Not too bad for 8 months, and now to continue having the fun I've had reaching it :)

My usual days off are Sunday and Monday - and my specialized unit has its own scheduler... and life for the most part is good. Sometimes we get asked to change shifts and days to help out the unit and most of us gladly accept.



Last two weekends and this upcoming weekend has me working on Sundays outside the unit for less money - thanks to the basic scheduling dept and one guy in particular who loves to yank my chain - which disrupts my life and plans and others in the unit...my manager and he have gotten into arguments, but the outcome is my chain still gets yanked....so I have had Monday and Tuesday off last 2 weeks and the same this upcoming weekend.



This past Sunday had me sick after I got off work; then Monday on a day off I got cluster migraines which basically wiped me out for the day..and then - to add to it, had to call in for jury duty - first time in 10 years I've had a notice for it.. and yippee, I had to report in yesterday morning on my other day off....and as my unluck would have it - I actually got picked for a jury! It was a civil case, so having me - an ex cop... didnt mean that much to them, sigh..so now through Friday Im on a case, and then get to go back to Disneyland to work Saturday and Sunday, then back to court on Monday (on my days off) and then back to work having NO days off until a week from this upcoming Sunday when I get my Sundays and Mondays off again!!!



ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and now I'm trying to get Saturday off to attend my stepsister's funeral back in San Diego (90 miles south of me) and just so darned frustrated I am right now!!!!

Heavy sigh...



Get a call from my father last night that one of my stepsisters, Gee, finally succumbed to her cancer...she will be sorely missed. She was a great person and was a sister to me and my 'real' sister.



Imagine, going to the doctor for a nagging catch in your breath and being told you have stage 4 cancer...so sorry, nothing we can do. She survived 18 months and had a great time up until the end.

Remember that 4 hour made for TV movie by Stephen King of the group flying and stuck in a weird airport out of sync with time?



Well, I'm in airport hell and swear I hear the munching sounds of the langoliers!



Yesterday, fly out of Atlanta, GA where I've been since Thursday enjoying DragonCon 2006 and flew into Phoenix, AZ for an hour layover and then fly back into John Wayne Airport in Orange County at 10:33, get super shuttle to the Disneyland Hotel, get my car and one mile later, I'm HOME!!!!!!!!!! snuggle in my own bed, have two cats fuss at me and then enjoy a day off today to relax, unpack and back to work tomorrow - but noooooooooooooooooooo the airport gods hate me and Murphy is laughing his fool head off!!!



We get onto the runway, next plane in line to take off when the pilot comes on and says "we have a warning light and we'll have to taxi back to the terminal and check it out" - so we do, and a bit later, they tell us flight is cancelled because we cannot land in OC because the airport has a night time curfew...we get bussed to a Mariott Courtyard for free, given toothpaste and deodarant and shampoo - our luggage is secured somewhere with America West and got some sleep - after they gave us all new tickets for today - and I come back early this morning - flying is a pain in the arse with the alert - and find out that the ticket issued me last night was for 2007 - same day and time and flight but for next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF



I got standby for two flights this morning, but both were overbooked to begin with - then got a confirmed seat but for 1:25 this afternoon - and I've been at this airport since 8am this morning -



Sitting here thankful I drug the laptop around with me and building up a good rant for when I get ahold of America West!!
